University of Central Florida Students Housing

University of Central Florida Students Housing will be able to live in the heart of Orlando’s tourist district and close to the hub of athletic actions on the East Orlando campus beginning this fall.

Students Housing communities will open at the College of Hospitality Management campus on Universal Boulevard and next to the UCF Arena on the East Orlando campus. The Arena-area housing soon will be next to a new 10,000-seat convocation center and about 100,000 square feet of restaurants and shops.

Five hundred beds will be available in the convocation center-area housing this fall, another 1,000 will be ready in fall 2009 and the remaining 500 will open in fall 2010. All 392 beds at the College will be available this fall.

University of Central Florida Students Housing and Residence Life office is leasing apartments in both housing communities. Information about apartment floor plans, almost of which have four bedrooms, and fees are available at the offices Web site: www.apartmentsucf.com

Housing and Residence Life said the College housing will allow students to live close to their classes and internships or jobs in the tourist district. Students do not have to be hospitality management majors to live there.

Students who work in that area might find it convenient to live there,

The convocation center is a short walking distance away from several University of Central Florida sporting events, including basketball and volleyball games at the Arena, baseball and softball games and track-and-field meets. Students eventually will be living next to many restaurants and stores that will be built near the planned convocation center, which is scheduled to open in 2010.

Students who live in the convocation center housing will be able to remain there during their entire college careers. In other Apartments UCF communities, students typically are asked to move to make room for incoming freshmen.

Both of the new complexes will offer Ethernet access. The College housing will offer housekeeping services. Reserved parking spaces in garages will be available for an extra fee for students who live in the convocation center housing.
